Prof. Dr. Sebastian Gäb

About the Professorship of Philosophy of Religion

The Professorship of Philosophy of Religion is concerned with researching and analysing the phenomenon of religion from a philosophical perspective, without being attached to a particular religious tradition.

Research at the Professorship focuses on the areas of religious language, mysticism and religious experience, the epistemology of religion convictions, religious pluralism, and post-traditional and naturalistic forms of religion.

The Professorship's chief tasks in teaching include instruction in contemporary topics in philosophy of religion and classical positions in the history of philosophy. Another focus is the courses on Asian, especially Chinese and Buddhist, philosophy.
