About the Chair of Theoretical Philosophy

The Chair of Theoretical Philosophy (Prof. Dr. Axel Hutter) conducts research at the intersection of classical German philosophy and analytic philosophy.

This involves newly evaluating and discussing systematic issues in theoretical philosophy against a background of the philosophy from Kant to Hegel.

Corresponding to this research profile is a specialized Master program in Theoretical Philosophy, which is designed for students whose core interests lie in the areas of metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, and philosophy of mind.

The Chair's research profile is reflected in a diverse program of conferences, talks, workshops and research projects.

The Professor for Philosophy, especially History of Modern Philosophy is also based at the Chair of Theoretical Philosophy.
