Prof. Dr. Robert A. Yelle
The Chair of Prof. Yelle is devoted to research in general, Indian, and European history of religion as well as the history of religious studies as a subject. Research specialisms include the semiotics of religion, structuralist and linguistic approaches to ritual and myth, political secularism, Hinduism and the history of colonial ties, the interpretative history of secularization since the Reformation, as well as the relationship between time and religion.

Center for Religion and Philosophy
The Center for Religion and Philosophy was established in 2024. It’s primary mission is to reflect philosophically and theoretically on religion as a domain of human behavior and experience. A related mission is to facilitate the public understanding of religion, particularly on matters of social importance, by disseminating scholarship to, and engaging in discussion with, non-academic audiences.
