Personal Information

I am a doctoral fellow at the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, supervised by Hannes Leitgeb and Alexander Reutlinger. Before starting my PhD, I studied Physics at TU Berlin, at the University of St. Andrews and at TU Munich (M.Sc.). I also hold a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Logic and Philosophy of Science, both from the MCMP at LMU Munich.

Research Interests

My research focuses on understanding how large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, reason and make inferences. I use a combination of experimental methods and theoretical analysis to study how these systems handle causal and counterfactual reasoning - that is, reasoning about causes and 'what if' situations. I also work in the field of explainable AI (XAI), exploring the logical and semantic foundations of counterfactual explanations, i.e. explanations describing how changing certain factors could alter an algorithm’s decision. Beyond these topics, I am interested in the philosophy of language and game theory.
