The Faculty Welcomes Two New Colleagues

Starting in the winter semester 2025/26, Dr. Sebastian Bender (currently at the University of Göttingen) and Dr. Andrew Stephenson (currently at the University of Southampton) will be joining our faculty.

Dr. Bender will take up the Professorship in Early Modern Philosophy. His research focuses on metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind in the early modern period, with particular emphasis on Leibniz, Spinoza, and Kant.

Dr. Stephenson will assume the Professorship in Philosophy with a focus on the history of philosophy from the early modern period to the present. His work centers on Kant’s philosophy and related issues in contemporary philosophy of mind, epistemology, metaphysics, and logic.
