Sébastien Rivat receives an ERC Starting Grant

Sébastien Rivat has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant for his project ‘The Scaling Revolution in Physics: Historical and Philosophical Perspectives’. In this project, he examines the recent transformation of physics from an ambition to find a final theory to a representation of the universe at successive scales. This is not only interesting from a historical point of view (how did this change come about?), but also has profound implications for various topics in the philosophy of science.
