Thomas C. Brückner studied physics, philosophy and mathematics in Heidelberg and Freiburg and received his doctorates in philosophy and physics in Aachen and Heidelberg, respectively. He worked as a scientific visitor at Stanford University. He completed his habilitation in philosophy under Prof. Moulines. He teaches at LMU.
Thomas C. Brückner researches and teaches the philosophy of physics and scientific theory (reduction, structuralist reconstructions, measure theory), ancient philosophy (Plato and Aristotle) and the philosophy of mind (neural networks, Boltzmann machines).
His current research interests include, in particular, the tropical characterisation of elementary particles and the ontological description of the soul.
