Thesis title: "Sacrifice in the Two Sanskrit Translations of the Epistle to the Hebrews: A Contextual, Textual, and Conceptual Analysis". Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Robert A. Yelle.
This PhD project, written in English, offers an analysis of the sacrificial, liturgical, and soteriological terminology of the Epistle to the Hebrews in the two Sanskrit translations of the New Testament from 1808 and 1851. Beside this conceptual analysis, the project also addresses the historical context in which these translations emerged as well as some other textual peculiarities.
