My PhD project consists of writing a monograph on the thought and life of Diodorus Cronus (4th-3rd century BC). Specifically, my research hypothesis is that Diodorus was not only a logician but also a philosopher of nature. Against the standard view of scholarship, I aim to show that his atomic theory is supported not only dialectically but also as a positive doctrine. Additionally, my goal is to delve into his logic, particularly his famous Master Argument, attempting to reconstruct its procedure, and his philosophy of language.
