Ben Pohlmann

During the winter semester 2025, I am a visiting PhD student at LMU hosted by Professor Betzler. Currently, I am a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Pavia as part of the FINO consortium. Prior, I obtained my MSc in Culture and Conflict in a Global Europe at the London School of Economics in 2022 and my BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Utrecht University in 2021.

My research interests lie in ethics and political philosophy. In my current work I explore the question of justice in the context of interpersonal relationships. Based on a proposed answer to this question, I defend the following thesis; legal, political and socio-economic justice derive their value largely albeit not solely from the fact that they enable and facilitate persons to lead just relationships with other persons.
