PhD project

I am a PhD student at the MCMP and the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stephan Hartmann. Before that, I obtained a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Göttingen and an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from KU Leuven.

I am interested in the relations between different levels of analysis in science. In my PhD project, I work on a framework for the formal analysis of these inter-level relations. Towards this end, I draw on methods from computability theory and algorithmic information theory. A particular focus of my project is on levels of analysis in empirical cognitive science.

Beyond that, I am interested in general philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, complex systems, and logic.
