Cambridge–LMU Strategic Partnership for John Dougherty and Neil Dewar

21.11.2024

John Dougherty and Neil Dewar (Cambridge) have received funding from the Cambridge–LMU Strategic Partnership for the project "Pragmatist approaches to the applicability of mathematics". This project will explore the role pragmatist ideas can play in philosophical thinking about mathematics and its scientific applications, especially as an alternative to thinking of mathematical representation in terms of a "mapping" between mathematics and the world. The project will hold workshops in Munich and Cambridge in 2025.
